The learning environment is characterised by an active student life with teaching and research staff in close proximity to our 44,000 students. At Linnaeus University, you will find a rich academic offer with more than 50 degree programmes and 500 courses in English, on both bachelor’s and master’s level. We also offer a number of programmes in distance learning format, if you prefer to stay where you are.

LNU is located in two cities, Kalmar and Växjö. Both cities with nature just around the corner, adding to the quality of life during your studies. Växjö has been declared ‘the Greenest city in Europe’ ↗️ and is surrounded by wonderful forests and lakes. Kalmar is a charming old city dating back to the Middle Ages, beautifully located by the Baltic Sea.

LNU is known for its strong international profile, with partner universities in more than 80 countries. Every year, more than 2,200 international students from all over the world come here to study. What are the main local industries?
Linnaeus University has a well-established and close collaboration with IKEA, the world’s largest furniture company, founded in the region of Småland where the university is located. One result of the collaboration is the master programme ‘Innovation through Business, Engineering and Design’, established in 2013.
